I don't do it as much as I used to and noticed that my knees now hurt too. You need strong muscles to stabilize the knee when running. They were expensive, but a year later they still work just as good as the day I bought them. I have wide feet to and they fit perfectly. They also have a "stabilicore" around the arch.
